The Mississippi Foundation for Medical Care, Inc., dba Information & Quality Healthcare (IQH), is a non-profit corporation chartered in 1971 in the state of Mississippi. IQH currently serves as the federally designated quality improvement organization for Mississippi under contract to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
IQH has a solid base of physician support in Mississippi. Membership is composed of more than 1,700 physicians. The Board of Directors is made up of 15 physicians and two consumer representatives with two hospital administrators serving as consultants to the Board.
IQH has provided quitline tobacco cessation services to Mississippians since 1999 through a grant from The Partnership for a Healthy Mississippi (PHM). The IQH Tobacco Quitline is a charter member of the North American Quitline Consortium (NAQC) and is active with the national network of quitlines. The Tobacco Quitline is structured to work with all types of tobacco use. Protocols based on both Public Health Service-sponsored Clinical Practice Guidelines, Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence and the latest evidence-based research are in place for smoke, spit, and chewing tobacco. Support materials specific to the use of smoke, spit or chewing tobacco are available.

Days of Operation
The Mississippi Tobacco Quitline is open Monday through Saturday except for recognized holidays: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day.
